2. Award winning teachers!

Our highly skilled teachers bring the expertise of their college training, success in competitions, and professional performance experience, as well as the knowledge gained from teaching hundreds of different students with varied strengths, challenges, and desires.  Our teachers are dedicated to learning about your personal musical goals and helping you to achieve them.  Along with their teaching credentials, our teachers have a warm and welcoming presence, and are dedicated to teaching you the music that you most want to learn.

3. The widest range of music lesson times available seven days a week!

11:00am – 7:00pm Friday
11:00am – 4:00pm Saturday
1:00pm – 6:00pm Sunday

4. A proven track record of excellence

Many of our students spend 10+ years in development with our teachers.  Former students have gone on to illustrious musical careers of their own, in bands such as the Revivalists (who recently opened for the Rolling Stones) and Anamanaguchi, and with such organizations as the Metropolitan Opera Company.

Most important is how students are able to carry their love of music and ability to play for fun into adulthood for a lifetime of musical fulfillment.

5. Free music recitals in a professional setting with grand pianos, plus more

We are the only music school in the area that offers free recitals, performance classes, and outreach programs in Cabarets and at Senior Homes.

Every parent wants to know how their child is doing and if they are really progressing. The best way for a parent to understand if their investment in lessons is really worth it, is to have their child participate in a recital.

The value of recitals is also large in scope, as children learn to achieve a goal and enjoy the recognition of that accomplishment. They gain valuable experience and a growth in confidence that can help with future endeavors, presentations they may do in the work environment or in public. The outreach programs are also examples of service and giving to others by bringing the joy of music out to larger audiences.

In December and June, we encourage all of our students to perform in our biannual recitals.  We celebrate together afterwards with a reception, a wonderful way to get to know each other and congratulate the performers.

6. Excellent customer service

We strive always to make your experience the best it can be, from matching students with a teacher, to being available to discuss how to make the lesson experience ideal.

Teachers are always ready to listen, and are available to have periodic and regular communication with parents in the last few minutes of a lesson on the progress of the students.  Whether it means figuring out practice strategies or help with picking favorite pieces, we feel that communication is the key to creating a program that fits the student’s needs. Parents are also welcome to visit lessons anytime as a way of witnessing what your child is learning.

7. Early morning and lunchtime lessons for homeschoolers, retirees, college students and working professionals

We offer lessons as early as 9 a.m. and we see many students between the hours of 11 am-2 pm. If you are a homeschool parent, retiree, college student or working professional who has a flexible schedule, take advantage of our early morning and lunchtime lesson spots.

8. Conveniently located in the heart of Pleasantville, across from the Jacob Burns Film Center

Our school is conveniently located in the center of Pleasantville, walking distance from the Pleasantville schools and the metro-north train station, and close to exits off of the Sawmill River Parkway. We are half a block from the popular Black Cow coffee shop, the Lil’ Chocolate Shoppe, Second Mouse Cheese, Glass Onion Originals, the Village Book Store, and more. Plenty to do while in Pleasantville, or while your children are having their lessons!

9. Picture Day

We are one of the rare schools that offers a Picture Day, free to their students. Every Spring we will host a free picture day with a professional photographer. We believe in celebrating your life in music, and what better way than to have pictures that help make your experiences memorable. It’s fun, and students are invited to bring their instruments and wear whatever they like! Adults are welcome too!

10. Month-to-month lessons

The Academy does not require semester minimums for lessons. Students here are on a month-to-month basis.

If you are ready to start, you have nothing to lose.  We want students who truly want to be here and we will not commit you to a long term contract.
