Reopening with Safety Features

We are happy to announce that the Pleasantville Academy of Music will reopen for in-person lessons starting in October.   Now enrolling new students for in-person and online lessons on piano and guitar, we welcome students to the studios with precautionary measures in place, and continue to offer online lessons if you are more comfortable with that.  Voice lessons are offered online only at this time – click here to access online info.

HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS

The safety of all students, teachers, and their families is our primary concern.  In order to welcome students back to in-person lessons, the following is our protocol in place to ensure we have done our best to keep everyone safe:

WHAT WE ASK FROM YOU FOR EVERYONE’S SAFETY

• All students and teachers are asked to wear masks while in person. 
• Please sanitize your hands upon entering the studio.
• Always practice social distancing. 
• Only one person at a time, along with the teacher, will be allowed in each studio. 

OTHER MEASURES IN PLACE FOR YOUR SAFETY

• Your temperature will be scanned when you enter.  
• A safety shield is in place between teacher and student.
• All surfaces will be sanitized between clients.
• An air purifier with a 3-layer filtering system including an H13 Hepa filter is in each room.
• A health questionnaire must be filled out online before each visit.  If you miss the online form, we will have forms to sign when you enter.  In the interest of time, we prefer that you do the online form, and a reminder email will be sent to you the morning of the lesson day with a link to the questionnaire to be filled out on the day of the lesson.  

We ask that you do not take an in-person lesson if you have a fever, or are experiencing any symptoms that might indicate an infection, such as a cough, sore throat, runny nose, nausea, sudden loss of smell, or shortness of breath.  Please also let us know if you have traveled out of the area, or if anyone in your home is awaiting the results of a test for Covid, in which case we ask that you do your lesson online until everyone is known to be healthy for two weeks.  The online lesson option will always be available to you.
